Check ‘Modpack Directory’ and click the ‘’ button to browse to the modpack root directory. Check ‘Custom Profile Name’ and enter in a custom name, if desired. I'm not too sure what this error means, but if I were to guess I would say that the version of Java I have installed on my PC is either too old or too new. Obviously the package is staying as someone else from the AUR community has already stepped up and provided a "normal", working package but now it's with upstream's cold feet.So I just wanna try out 1.17 before it's released, so I booted up MultiMC, created an instance for 1.17-rc2, and launched it. I was kind of proud that I could do one keyboard combination (win+r, to run shell command), one command ( yay multimc-bin) and tada! have an awesome Minecraft "launcher" up & running.

(not sure about this, edited) The reason the AUR package was actually deleted was that the original, upstream maintained package, would seemingly just run a shell script that would download latest launcher, instead of being a package of the launcher itself in the first place. But, I quickly noticed my error, unmarked it and apologized in comments, though it's not preserved in the archive, it was definitely one of the last comments in this AUR package before it was overtaken.

I actually feel like I am partialy responsible as I marked it OOD only a few days ago because I received notification from MultiMC that there was an update (for the app, not the launcher = aur version). The package was seemingly often marked as out of date in AUR, because the version there tracked the version of the launcher for MultiMC, not the version of M.MC itself. Though, as you can see on the linked discord screenshots in the new/taken over AUR page: There was some heat around this The package multimc-bin was previously maintained by one of the main MultiMC dev, peterx.
